Local and Wide Area Networking

Local Area Networking

Local Area Networking (LAN) is one of the most critical aspects of any company's computer systems. Your LAN is what was allows all of the computers in your company to talk to each for file sharing, print sharing, and data backup processes. Because of how important a LAN is to a company, LAN problems can result in lost productivity, lost data, and expensive troubleshooting bills.

GlenForest has a lot of experience designing and building Local Area Networks. We work with everything from the small networks that our people have in their own houses to the largest multi-segment networks out there. We work with network equipment from Cisco, Intel, 3com, Foundry, and Extreme.

Whether a customer needs a small change to one of their switches, or they need a high availability switching solution across multiple media types, GlenForest can help. We can help you with network design, basic cabling, hardware selection and hardware implementation.

Wide Area Networking

When your company connects to the Internet or opens additional offices you will probably need a Wide Area Network (WAN). A WAN may be as simple as a T1 to the Internet or something more complex like a Frame Relay cloud connecting all of your offices over a Virtual Private Circuit (VPC). Whatever your network looks like we have the people you need to make it work.

Our consultants have experience with a variety of different routers and protocols including the Cisco line of products and protocols including BGP, HSRP and VRRP.
